I'm going to meet a recruiter on monday. I'm very interested in working with him...
I don't even have a suit yet (it's been 7 years since i looked..and last time i wore my mom's.. i know, i know...).
Do i need a special bag for the resume? I have NOTHING. |

i need something quick, that i can cook with 2 kids in tow...

| daycare... again |

So today we went to check out some other daycares. The one we liked the most is part of JCC... I will list pluses and minuses for each:
Stellar Academy - where Dora goes now.
+ i know the school, i know what to expect.
+ i know how they teach, i've seen kids in play.
+ children switch rooms every hour (they have different zones), thus more diverse environment.
- price
- can't do half days or shorter days as i can pick up Dora at 3pm right now.
- i don't trust director. I've spoken to Dora's teacher and she is the same way with everyone. What she says = law. Pretty much, parents have no voice.
JCC
+ by going to JCC, we will save over 4K a year.
+ Dora will go 9am-3pm. While i am still working at my old job and can't leave, i can spend more time with the kids.
+ and - we need to get JCC membership, which would allow me going to the gym and pool. They have free babysitting.
+ swimming classes all year long for the kids.
+ a lot more physical activities.
+ the more i think about it, i'd like Dora to learn a bit about Jewish culture.
- they keep kosher, so have to be careful with what we send to school.
- i didn't see children studying. In the summer they have camps.
- have to decide soon as they have only 2 spots left.
They are same distance from our house.
I would actually like my kids to participate in JCC life. When i came to America, going to JCH helped me tremendously with finding friends and just spending time.
Still have couple questions to ask JCC, but we are leaning towards it right now. |

| daycare question |

I am totally stuck right now... I really dislike the way food is being handled in Dora's daycare. We give her home cooked food and snacks, but whenever there is a birthday party, she ends up eating horrible cupcakes and junk like that. Plus, she sees other kids eating Oreo!!!! cookies and, of course, wants it too. Sometimes i come to pick her up and see her quietly eating her veggies and watching enviously other kids eating nutritionally useless "food".
Last week i took her to our local health store and let her pick some snacks that are not necessarily full of sugar, but at least she can feel "equal" with other kids.
I realize as she gets older and older, it'll be harder for us to manipulate her food choices.
At this point, i am ready to transfer her to different daycare. It seems like other parents don't have a problem with giving snickers to their 3 year olds.. i do.
I already made appointments with some other preschools in the area (including Montessori). What's your opinion about Montessori?
Plus, considering our schedules (i am home by 3pm from work), there is no reason for us to pay for a full day of school. Our current daycare doesn't have half days....

Just bury the guy already! Michael Jackson that is.....
Leave him in peace. I find it disgusting and distributing that Al Sharpton is on the front pages of all media outlets due to MJ's death. Well, i always found Sharpton disgusting and disturbing, but especially now. |

So we are thinking of getting Dora a bike with training wheels. I want to get a bike that will be okay for Max as well. ALL bikes are either for girls or for boys. I know i can find something in between (boys), but, seriously. Enough with princesses, Bratz, Barbies and all other junk! Why can't there be a normal unisex bicycle?
Talking about bicycles. Any recommendations?:) |

So we've decided to remodel our kitchen. Yay! Going with Ikea cabinets.
And............................. we are buying a minivan. Will probably get one by the end of summer. We are just not fitting into mazda 3 at this point.
